From IASGO President and Secretary General
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We feel both honored and privileged to have this opportunity today to address to all of you this welcome message on the occasion of our 20th IASGO World Congress taking place in Cairo, Egypt under the Presidency of Prof. Dr. Medhat Sabet.
We are fully convinced that this meeting will represent a landmark in the history of our association. Our international congress in Cairo is going to once again fulfill our highest expectations for achieving a globalization of medical knowledge and expertise; something that stands as an ideal, but also as a reality, for all of us who have witnessed the impressive developments and evolution of our association during the past 21 years of our history.
We are devoted to succeed in bringing together surgeons, oncologists, gastroenterologists and endoscopists from all corners of the world, in an effort to offer a unique opportunity to our colleagues to present their experience in this one of a kind event which will evolve around an Olympic style theme just as our congress in Beijing, China.
Distinguished colleagues from all over the world will take part in this friendly competition based on the same ideas and principles which were the inspiration for the organization of the original Olympiads. Like our ancestors, we remain motivated by the principals and ideas of Hippocrates and we are determined to award the best of the best with the highest distinction for their achievements in the arena of medical expertise worldwide.
Today we are asking you to contribute with the best of your scientific work in this noble congress by presenting your experience in the form of lectures, free paper, oral and video presentations.
Furthermore, we will once again take advantage of the incredible capabilities that Digital Video Transmission System (DVTS) has to offer for broadcasting live demonstrations of the most advanced oncological, laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic procedures for three consecutive days from the most prominent universities centers around the world directly to the congress venue.
Prof. Sabet and his local organizing committee are determined to offer us the unique combination of an outstanding scientific program complimented by a diverse social and cultural agenda reflecting the long lasting tradition, culture and civilization of the host country.
We are fully convinced that the Cairo meeting will be one most unique scientific event which is guaranteed to leave all of us unforgettable memories.
Looking forward to welcoming you all to Cairo next year!
Very sincerely,
